After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions.

In the heart of the Macon winegrowing region, South of Burgundy. The two villages Vire and Clesse form a unique terroir on slopes facing South-East. In Vire, the soil is chalky with large layers of clay. In Clesse , the soil structure is slightly different with a combination of chalk and clay mixed with liasic marls combined with oyster- fossils which convey to the wine a specific minerality. This is one of the best white wines of the region combining suppleness and minerality.

This wine is a pale lemon colour.
The nose is full of ripe fruity notes married with elegant aromas of fresh herbs, green apples, citrus fruit and grapefruit.
The palate is refreshing and zesty with great flavour intensity which persists on the long finish.
Vanilla notes dominate on the nose, with smokey wood and cacao notes from the ageing in barriques. Floral and fruity flavours come through on the powerful, full-bodied palate, which has well-balanced acidity and a long finish.
